Raindrops Geneva Award

Ever concerned with highlighting the benefits of rainwater harvesting, the International Rainwater Harvesting Alliance (IRHA) , works to promote this vital, but underused resource. In 2007, the IRHA created the Raindrops Geneva Award, an art biannual competition, that has been an important part of our awareness raising activities ever since. Linking Development with the Arts, it is an excellent means to convince people about our cause. By inviting artists from all over the world to create posters, videos and photographs that show the uses and benefits of rainwater harvesting, and exhibiting their work, we have been able to get more people to think and talk about the management of this resource. By naming our competition Raindrops Geneva Award, we aim to increase the recognition of Geneva as being intrinsically linked to the promotion of rainwater harvesting. The competition is already in its 4th edition and this year it invites graphical art to show the importance of managing rain as a precious resource.
