Stockholm World Water Week 2015

Next year’s World Water Week is themed water for development and will take place August 23-28th in the city center of Stockholm. Like previously SWP coordinates Swiss presence and has submitted jointly with interested members thematic proposals on.

  • How to implement the “hidden” SDG water resilience/DRR component?
  • Implementing and monitoring SDG water targets in the MENA region
  • Mistakes to successes: learning from errors
  • Discovering new water partnerships to catalyse innovations & funding

SWP meets World Bank

At the end of January SWP Chair Olga Darazs travels to Washington in order to meet with senior water experts and high level decision makers (including the Swiss executive director and members of the management board of the Bank’s WSP) to promote our member’s expertise and explore future avenues of collaboration. Water identified as largest risk in WEF Global Risk Report 2015

For four years, World Economic Forum (WEF) Global Risk Reports have identified water as one of the three most important challenges worldwide; this year, for the first time, it has moved to the top. Water is perceived as the biggest societal and economic risk for the next ten years.
